Leadership Development Grants

Leadership Development Grants nurture an institution’s strengths and cultivate innovative leadership development practices

Vibrant Christian institutions are committed to leadership development. They are constantly developing current and potential leaders, identifying talent, nurturing growth and encouraging the formation of wise, sustainable practices.

The Leadership Development Grants program offers Christian institutions up to $50,000 to nurture the leadership of staff and partners in ministry in a yearlong project.

Each year, up to five Leadership Development Grants will be awarded to institutions that have demonstrated excellence in their mission and notable influence on other organizations. Typically, applicants are institutions of a scale and scope to have significant impact in their communities. Those might include denominations, seminaries, church-related colleges, consultancies, large membership congregations and Christian non-profit organizations in the United States.

Successful proposals will assess an institution’s current leadership development practices, capitalize on the institution’s strengths, and propose innovative experiments to improve or expand leadership development programs.

The application window for 2017 proposals has closed. Please see the 2017 Grantees tab for a list of current grant recipients. Applications for 2018 Leadership Development Grants will be accepted beginning in January 2018. .
